OVERVIEW
NACRC is a registered Limited Company and Charity that was established in 1986 in response to demands from the African Caribbean community for a physical base from which to initiate and deliver responses to their challenges and ambitions.
Its establishment was led by the Newham African Caribbean Alliance, an association of the Borough’s African & Caribbean organisations, who came together to be the joint and representative voice of the black community in Newham.
Our facilities are open to everyone, including persons of non-African-Caribbean origin, and the Centre has expanded its remit to include work with African Caribbean Communities in neighbouring boroughs.
The community centre serves as the hub for the local community (not only African and Caribbean) in Newham; it allows a cost effective location for community activities to take place.
